Programme B (optional, to compare)
- EPC –
- Conversion rate –
- Commission per sale –
- Earnings per 100 clicks –
EPC (earnings per click) = total commission ÷ clicks. It lets you compare programmes with different commission rates and prices on a like-for-like basis.
How to use the EPC calculator
- Take the clicks, sales and commission for a programme from your affiliate dashboard, ideally for the same date range.
- Enter them under Programme A to see its EPC and conversion rate.
- Add a second programme under Programme B to see which earns more per click.
Why EPC matters
A high commission rate doesn’t always mean more money. A programme paying 5% on products people buy often can beat one paying 30% on products that rarely sell. EPC accounts for both, which makes it the fairest way to compare offers.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good EPC?
There is no single good figure. It depends on your niche and traffic. Use EPC to compare programmes and track your own improvement over time.
How is EPC calculated?
EPC = total commission ÷ number of clicks. Some networks quote EPC per 100 clicks, which the calculator also shows.
How many clicks do I need for a reliable EPC?
The more the better. With only a handful of clicks, one sale can swing the number a lot, so wait for at least a few hundred clicks before drawing firm conclusions.
